Enobong Uwah Foundation Uplifts Elderly Petty Traders In Uyo With Joyous ‘Happy Hour Friday’ Celebration

Today, our hearts overflowed with joy as a dedicated delegation, led by the Executive Secretary of the Enobong Uwah Foundation, Barrister Morgan Ekanem, embarked on a charitable journey to celebrate ‘Happy Hour Friday’ with a group of resilient elderly petty traders in the heart of Uyo.

This remarkable outreach was conceived as a tribute to the unwavering spirit of our elderly parents, often overlooked and underappreciated. Despite the trials of advancing age and health challenges, these remarkable individuals continue to navigate the rugged path of entrepreneurship with unwavering determination.

In a touching display of support and solidarity, the Enobong Uwah Foundation extended a helping hand to these unsung heroes. The Foundation, driven by compassion and a commitment to community, generously donated the sum of 50,000 naira to each of the 20 elderly traders present. This act of kindness carries the promise of sustaining their businesses and ensuring a dignified livelihood.

The journey of compassion spanned across various neighborhoods, commencing at Oron road and weaving through Ekpanya, down to Ikot Ekpene road, Udo Ette, Atiku road, and culminating at the serene Osongama Estate. Each stop was a testament to the Foundation’s dedication to reaching those who need it most.

Our heartfelt gratitude extends to our esteemed Chairman, Sir Enobong Uwah, whose benevolence and empathetic spirit ignited this heartwarming initiative. His unwavering commitment to uplifting the marginalized in our community continues to inspire us all.

EUF: That Many may Live and in Good Health

On March 7, 2023, the Enobong Uwah Foundation commenced her free medical and surgical outreach at the Primary Health Centre, Atan-Offot, Uyo Local Government Area.

The outreach drew all categories of “Patients” from Atan-Offot, Uyo, and other neighboring villages and Local Government Areas. The services rendered included general consultations and medical advisory sessions, laboratory tests and general diagnostics, drug administrations and other forms of treatments, and free eye care services both for elders and children. Over 200 free, medicated eyeglasses were issued to those in need of them, along with other ancillary eye care medications.

We thank our Service Coordinators, the Healthcare Alliance for Umo Eno (HEAL) through their leader Dr Ekem John and his team of volunteers, and Dr Aniekeme Uwah for their support.

The two-day outreach continued till Wednesday, March 8, 2023, with a focus on surgeries and other allied services.

The aim of the Outreach was majorly to assist those in need of adequate Medicare but who cannot afford it to access the same, free of all charges. We wish that many may live and that they live in good health.
